Paul Roush and Gene Bishop are principals and managing members of Austin Sustainable Energy LLC. Together, they have more than 50 years of engineering experience designing, developing, and testing high technology products.
Paul Roush is a graduate of Rice University in Electrical Engineering where he was a member of the Eta Kappa Nu engineering honor society. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas (#75053 granted 1993), and is a past chairman of the Central Texas IEEE Speech and Signal Processing Society. Paul is a veteran of the engineering community, where his experience has spanned the technical and management spectrum. His 25+ years of experience includes lasers, large scale power devices, infrared and fiber optic devices, communication and control systems, DSP and graphic processor architectures, multimedia platform and computer systems design. He established the Sun Microsystems engineering organization in Austin and has managed organizations as large as 125 people and products with revenues exceeding $2B. Paul is a past president of the Barton Creek West Homeowners Association and holds US Patent #5457786.
Gene Bishop is a graduate of Texas A&M University in Mechanical Engineering where he was a member of the Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma engineering honor societies, and he subsequently did graduate work in Engineering Mechanics at the University of Kentucky. He has spent more than three decades doing high technology product development and engineering management at IBM, Sun Microsystems, and Dell Inc. where he worked on a wide range of products including office copiers, printers, workstation computers, and server computers. His specific technical and management responsibilities have been equally broad and have included applied research, product design and development, product functional and compliance testing, RAS (reliability/availability/serviceability), power/packaging/cooling, product-specific software development, software quality assurance testing, and computer system development.
